Changing Traditions
Students have asked their families about traditions that may have changed over time. Here is my example:
When my grandparents were younger, they used to write letters to each other to communicate. My parents would communicate by talking over the telephone in their home. Now I communicate with my family by cellphone, skype, or text message. My family changed because the technology improved.
How have these celebrations and activities changed over time? What changes might happen in the future?

Community Tour Assignment
The goal of this activity is to help students understand all of the different communities represented in their own neighbourhoods. Students should identify at least 4 places in their community where a culture is being represented, including churches, restaurants, schools, music, shopping, or other services. They can complete this worksheet on the way home from school or to and from activities in the evening. Students can include photographs if they wish as well.

Inquiry Questions
Students recorded 3 questions about a tradition or celebration of their choosing. They thought of some ways they might find the answer to their questions. Please assist your son/daughter in answering one of their inquiry questions. On Thursday they can share what they learned with classmates in 2D!
